Western clothing is now representing Japanese apparel culture in fashion shows.
We believe that traditional Japanese clothing is what naturally brings out the beautiful shape and appearance of the Japanese.
Most people probably share this sentiment, but chances to see or dress in traditional wear have been disappearing and it is something that is most unfortunate from the perspective of the passing on of Japanese culture.
There are several reasons for this. One of the main causes is that we have limited the number of chances or occasions to wear traditional clothing. Another is the tendency towards using western clothing in our modern day lives and yet another is perhaps our failure to respect our traditions while at the same time honing our sense of modernity.

Therefore, we have given this project the title of "Wa-Rinascimentale"("Wa" meaning "Japanese") and view it as a sort-of "Wa-Renaissance". We have started this project for those creative businesses that wish to participate, that understand the significance of the inheritance of Japanese culture, and through it try to create a new category of fashion.

At present we are experimenting in the following:
・In the hair and make-up area, we endeavor to express in this field-a new fashion category- by bringing out the avant-garde possibilities of the kimono and it's elements in modern fashion while at the same time maintaining it's basic image.

・Bringing out the "new charm" of the kimono by make-up; in any situation -even in "high fashion-style"- and transcend the barriers of race.

We wish for a chance to introduce this new kimono and Japanese culture to the world. "What if modern life were not centered around western clothing, but the kimono was the center: what would hair and make-up look like?"
